about
Inspired by the book of the same name by Lydia Lunch - Paradoxia: A Predator's Diary, a hellish ride into the depths of debauchery and sin. The track features vocal samples from Lydia herself and is inspired by Lydia’s musical tastes: from blast beats, surreal sounds and creeping late-night jazz. Structurally, the piece is influenced by the William Burroughs cut-up technique; the track utilizes razor-sharp edits creating a maddening attack on your pitiful brain. Paradoxia, the book, and track, is a roller coaster ride through sordid memories and neon streets. Tasker’s Ashtonian drawl and lyrical content, backed by blast beats and freak out no wave swells, explore the theory of alienation, society of the spectacle, the extremist dystopian idea of Year Zero, and the concept of the Ubermensch.
The collaboration with the Punk Hellraiser Lydia Lunch comes
in anticipation of her co-production of the upcoming debut album, Too Late For the Past.
lyrics
Capitalism,
Black nihilism,
Stood side by side as a groom and a bride,
But within a glum toiler an Ubermensch hides!
Milkshakes for cherries,
Burgers for berries,
Granite shall vanish beneath emerald grass.
Piles of paper and skyscrapers? Nothing!
Copper compared to what woodlands amass.
Embrace the fact that,
The social contract’s
A jailor immuring the apes that we are.
Horses were slain by a speeding sports car.
Oh… the digital hero, apotheosized,
By corpulent gluttons…whose barren eyes
Are hot not with a fierce, animalistic light,
They chase not the heavens’ scintillating gems any longer…
Freidrich’s last men have become much stronger…
The eyes of the needle
shall welcome no eagle,
That’s witnessed the hope of salvation and stress,
Grotesquely combine,
To keep workers in line,
By the grace of Bernays we confess!
Customers,
Prices,
Billboards and vices.
Jungles which wait beyond brick, glass and steel.
Wounds exist for mother nature to heal…heal…heal.
